Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bolton, the city of Manchester, Salford and Trafford and a wide range of specialist mental health and substance misuse services across Greater Manchester, the north west of England and beyond. They also provide Health and Justice Services in a number of custodial settings. The Trust employs around 4,750 members of staff, who deliver services from more than 130 locations. Over a 12-month period, they see in the region of 53,000 service users.

They are now seeking to appoint to the post of Associate Director of Capital, Estates and Facilities. This is a key leadership post within GMMH, and it will allow the appointed candidate to play an important role, not only in their capital and estates strategy but also across the wider Greater Manchester system.

Reporting directly into the Trust’s Deputy CEO/Director of HR, the post-holder will undertake the strategic and operational leadership and management of the capital development, property management, and estates and facilities teams, maximising the effectiveness, utilisation and functionality of staff resources, equipment and materials. This includes providing expert advice to clinical and corporate services on the provision of safe, high quality, cost effective services.

Suitable candidates will be professionally qualified and either hold a master’s degree or have equivalent experience. You will be a member of a recognised professional body, have gained extensive experience in capital, estates and facilities ideally with some experience within a healthcare setting. You will have excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to develop high performing teams. You will be a strong communicator, able to build strong relationships within the Trust and effective partnerships across the wider Greater Manchester system.
