This new role is to operate within the maintenance department of a well established growing Company. Working on one of their leading manufacturing facilities as a Fabric Technician, carrying out planned/reactive works across 3 nearby sites. Ideally the successful candidate will have a strong background in Carpentry but we would also look at someone who has come from a Painting and Decorating or Handyman background. Experience in a building maintenance environment is vital.
Main Duties include:
To be responsible for the repair and maintenance of internal/external building fabric, to include small building works, carpentry, decorating, ground works, drainage, plumbing, basic electrical and fitting works.
- General Carpentry
- Door maintenance and repair
- Basic plumbing repairs
- External repairs i.e. patch brickwork/Plastering/Paving
- Unblocking toilets and drains
- Tilling patch repairs, wall and floor
- Temporary repairs to flooring carpets, lino and screeds
- Suspended ceiling repairs
- Shelving racking
- Lock changes/repairs
- Grounds maintenance
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- City & Guilds / NVQ qualified
- Recognised apprenticeship (not essential)
- Minimum three years practical experience
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
- Commitment to providing a high quality service
- Willing to work flexibly and as a team member
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to be detail conscious
