Role: Bid Manager 

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 plus yearly bonus and package 

Loaction: Bristol

 

Purpose of Role

At all times ensuring that all actions on all tenders are taken to achieve industry leading performance and customer service.To manage pre-construction activities and tendering procedures for the Construction Services business, prioritising allocation of resources for key target opportunities. Providing technical advice to the sales and development team.

Core responsibilities of the role


  • Liaising with PCD to anticipate tendering opportunities


  • Provide regular Preconstruction report / programme to Senior Management and Directors


  • Consideration of Bid/No Bid process at early stage of tender period


  • Commercial assessment of tendering opportunities limited to key criteria required for consideration of Bid/No Bid process. Establishing
  • key criteria checklist


  • Develop submissions and standard sections to continually improve documents to meet and exceed client expectations, oversee
  • establishment of library


  • Develop preconstruction procedures in conjunction with PCD and Group policies linked with direct reports


  • Representation to Group Supply Chain Management


  • Develop preconstruction strategy in conjunction with Divisional growth plans


  •    Develop strategy for improving success rate for tenders i.e. partnership arrangement with suitable designers etc


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Provide commercial, contractual and operational support


  • Understanding of the construction industry


  • Understanding of the different procurement routes and contractual arrangements


  • Ability to extract and translate customer requirements and develop comprehensive proposals that meet every need.


  • Ability to challenge traditional methodologies and have innovative approaches to communicating methodology and core principles of
  • business


  • Ability to listen and articulate effectively


  • Exceptional professional presentation and communication skills


  • Strong procedural acumen


  • Presence and knowledge to be credible at all levels in an organisation
