Bring your flair for innovation and change to this key leadership role in our Property Management team and drive excellence in every aspect of facilities management.

At Hertfordshire County Council, we are at the heart of our county’s economic success. With 11,000 acres of land and some 2,000 individual properties in our portfolio, we play an important part in ensuring that Hertfordshire remains a country of opportunity, offering superb quality of life for residents and visitors alike. You will make a vital contribution to the management of our property services and infrastructure.

You will enjoy diverse responsibilities, with a keen eye on the future. In terms of capital projects, you will submit business cases, commission feasibility studies, and ensure that robust specifications and costings are developed. Accountable for the delivery of approved programmes to time, quality and cost, you will work closely with consultants, contractors and stakeholders.

With a remit spanning all non-school facilities management - from ‘soft’ aspects such as catering and security, through to ‘hard’ aspects including all types of maintenance - you will champion close working with services, building occupiers and contracted partners. You will bring an equally collaborative approach to your work with housing associations, and in developing schemes of work and programmes of awareness focused on carbon reduction.

We expect you to be qualified to a minimum NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, together with either BIFM level 5-6 (or equivalent) or a substantial, relevant track record within facilities management or the construction industry. You will certainly bring to the role proven experience of leading teams delivering high quality maintenance services to a diverse portfolio of customers and properties. Your track record ranges from managing and reporting on substantial revenue budgets, to leading significant change programmes and projects.

In addition to an attractive salary and the choice to make your home in one of our county’s thriving modern towns, historic market towns or picturesque villages, the benefits of working with us include:

  • Excellent pension scheme with employer contributions
  • Discounts on everyday shopping/holidays/entertainment/leisure along with cashback with our Herts Rewards Scheme
  • Salary exchange for additional benefits
  • Staff Support Groups
  • Occupational maternity / paternity and adoption pay
  • Excellent Wellbeing schemes
  • Lease Car Scheme

Closing date: 2nd December 2018.
Interview date:  w/c 17th December 2018.
