A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint a qualified CAD Technician to work as part of a project team for a period of 3 months initially. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional 2D & 3D computer aided design services using AutoCAD and Revit
  • software to colleagues across the organisation, wider Estates Project Team;
  • Including the production of record and proposal drawings together with the supply of data in both textual and graphical format; 
  • Work as part of the wider Estates Team responsible for administrating, maintaining and developing the CAFM Software Register which provides access to drawings and data including all site plans, floor plans, record drawings, legal data, departmental space occupation, room use, building condition surveys, the Asbestos register, space utilisation surveys etc.; 
  • Support the development of strategic business cases by supporting a range of cross-team technical services including capital planning staff, professional design teams, quantity surveyors, engineering services, fire safety and relocations teams; 
  • Responsible for the production and regular updating of the master site plans across the
  • Trust Estate portfolio to set standards by means of conducting structured audits,
  • measured & visual surveys together with Ordnance Survey data as applicable;
  • Responsible for the production, structured audit and updating of the master floor plans
  • of all organisations owned or occupied buildings to set standards, also by utilising measured
  • surveys together with “as built” drawings and data supplied by colleagues, Architects and Design Consultants;
  • Analysing data and statistical information for inclusion within the annual NHS Estates
  • E.R.I.C return, National Monitoring Reporting and Service Level Agreements; Verifying the accuracy of current estate data and record information via structured
  • internal auditing processes, coordinating both short and long term audits/inspections;


A successful candidate will have:

  • Autodesk Certified Professional accreditation or similar in 3D Revit, and 2D AutoCAD draughting or equivalent experience; 
  • Specialist significant knowledge acquired through a Degree or through courses and experience
  • equivalent to Degree level in a Construction related subject; 
  • Conducting in depth accurate measured surveys and producing accurate CAD drawings from this information; 
  • Experience of carrying out space planning exercises and option appraisals.
