Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
- Build and maintain a high-performing, collaborative team culture
- Lead, support, and develop Engineering Technicians
- Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations
- Deliver coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews
- Support career development and succession planning
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical building services systems
- Act as High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP) where required
- Conduct plant inspections, audits, and technical reviews
- Ensure delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works to a high standard
- Maintain system reliability, uptime, and asset performance
- Ensure compliance with client contracts, SLAs, and KPIs
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work
- Manage and mitigate operational risks to prevent service disruption
- Oversee Permit to Work (PTW), RAMS, and compliance procedures
- Support development and implementation of:
- SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- EOPs (Emergency Operating Procedures)
- Deliver technical training and guidance to engineering teams
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive efficiency, service enhancements, and best practice
- Manage and coordinate vendors and subcontractors
- Ensure all service providers meet quality, safety, and performance standards
- Act as a key interface with clients and stakeholders
- Support delivery of an enhanced technical service and workplace experience
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- HV Authorised Person (HVAP) status
- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
- L8 Water Hygiene / Legionella Awareness
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical systems (LV/HV)
- Building services and mechanical systems
- Evaporative cooling systems & Legionella control
- Proven experience in building services, facilities management, or critical environments
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance and legislation
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
- Proactive, organised, and results-driven mindset
- Strong technical decision-making ability
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear progression into Engineering Manager / Technical Manager roles
