The Role: Service Operations Manager

Sector: FM / Engineering

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

This is an exciting time to join a business who provide gas and electrical engineering, maintenance and installation services to both private and commercial clients. They are about to embark on a strategic growth phase and to support on that we are looking for a driven and professional Service Operations Manager to join them.

Are you a motivated, solution-orientated Service Operations Manager, keen to take your next step within management? Perhaps you are currently a senior team leader of an engineering or a facilities team.

If so, this Service Operations Manager role could be perfect for you!

Whilst much of their worked is carried out by the in-house team, they are also looking to grow their network of subcontractors, and this role will be integral to that. We are looking for someone to build and manage relationships and ensure that high standards are maintained. You will work alongside the existing management team to stimulate growth and performance for the business.

What you will do:

Your experience managing or leading a team within installations, service, maintenance or facilities management will ensure you are able to:


  • Take ownership of the onboarding, mentoring, and development of contractor teams
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, ensuring high standards of delivery
  • Have the capability to work collaboratively with administrative and support teams on workload and engineer diary planning
  • Ensure adherence to company H&S policies and performance to target
  • Happy and willing to get involved with the day-to-day engineering tasks such as attending customer sites where required to support the resolution of complex challenges
  • Conduct and support the completion of safety and quality audits, with a focus on Gold Standards
  • Have a customer-centric attitude
