Our client are one of the largest commercial property and real estate organisations across the UK and Europe, who offer both consultancy and M&E services across the commercial environment. Currently they seek an electrically-biased M&E Technical Services / Engineering Manager to work across a variety of different contracts in Central & Greater London. Working across varying contracts including commercial office space, events space, museums, it will involve working in tandem with the various site engineering teams to deliver training courses including AP assessments, involvement with HV shutdowns and switching for critical works and maintenance/projects. Guideline salary for this position is £70-75,000 and includes a package comprising of car allowance, annual discretionary bonus, healthcare and pension.
Candidates must be fully qualified in electrical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, and must demonstrate a strong aptitude for HV distribution. Preferably this will be current/previous status as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for 11kv Distribution, while at minimum candidates must have HV AP / AP 15 status, with experience leading site shutdowns, writing switching schedules & permits, co-ordinating specialist contractors, etc.

As such, this will include weekend/out-of-hours work at times due to critical maintenance taking place outside of their clients working hours.

Particular responsibilities will include:
- To act as the principal client facing technical expert across all service lines
- Input to customer asset management plan and capital replacement program and ensure risk, resilience, experience and efficiency are considered.
- Ensure that critical works are completed with out any unplanned downtime to customer infrastructure.
- Input technical risks into risk register and provide engineering solutions to reduce/remove risks
- Provide the onsite teams with general engineering support as required.
- Liaise with wider business solutions to promote innovations in both new technology and service solutions.
- Act as Senior Authorised Person for division:-
- Managing of Authorised Person register and assessments.
- Support high risk works as required (sometimes out of hours)
- Communicating known safety alerts/notices across the division
- Arrange authorised persons site audits across the relevant sites.
- Advice on high risks works.
- Provide investigation and root cause analysis as required, producing reports and learning from experience documents to be shared internally/externally.
- Provide standard competence tests for current staff and for utilisation during interview stages
- Liaise and work in partnership with the QHSE team
- Promote customer experience and wellbeing through good operation of building service systems
- Act as mentor for apprentices and drive upskilling of engineering team
- Provide technical support the division project team in areas such as: -
- Scope and Specification reviews
- Mid and End of project Snagging
- Support in planning of high risk works
- Assistance and support in creation of initial scoping documentation
